Curious Kids

A 6-level primary course (British English) from Macmillan. Pic 1 from official clip, level 3. Pic 2 from official book sample. Level 4, unit 3, lesson 7.

Pic 2 is from a clip as well. Boy is called Ed.

I'm currently very busy and I haven't searched for more clips yet.

Course I think from 2022.  There are also song clips including young kids dancing. Probably many clips are animations at least for earlier levels.

I think digital books and Navio app only. No CD/DVD.

Update 2: Lighthouse / Access 2 (2022/2023)

I found some more book previews and clips. As usual, they first publish book #1 for 5th grade and later the other grades. July/November 2023. DVD 2 later. Noah is obviously much more shown than Joe. Noah has longer hair in book/DVD 2 (6th grade) and Joe has shorter hair and looking older (one year later, pictured on right next to Gloria and Daisy). Both looking like different actors. Lily (see other post) with her short hair looking almost like a boy. Maybe Joe is mainly or only shown in Access 2? They are often shown in their school uniforms.

The movie company is obviously Grasshopper Films Ltd. (set in Brighton, Claire Spencer) as credited in the books. (Not to be confused with Grasshopper Film, or German based Grasshopper Films). Pic taken from official book sample Lighthouse 2, Unit 5, courtesy of Cornelsen/Grasshopper Films (Fair Use).

There is also a new, short clip (showing younger Joe) on the official YouTube channel.

Main entries (first showing younger Joe, 1st update showing Noah)

Update: Lighthouse / Access (2022)

The previous post, showing other kids, taken from the Behind the scenes clip from the official Cornelsen channel. The new pic above is taken from the new book preview of Access 1 (5th grade), courtesy: Cornelson (Fair use). There are 5 kids from Garville Road. From left Noah Williams, Alice Shaw, Zane Adebayo and Lily Hall. "The five kids from Brighton". Unpictured: Sunita Chandra. There are several more good pics in the book. More infos about the characters on the concept page (advanced edition).

Either the other kids are from Access 2 or 3 or are in the sub series (People and Places ?). There are no previews of the other books. To be published in July. (Video DVDs maybe a bit later). Lighthouse and Access don't have "English G" anymore in the title. G is I think for Gesamtschule.

I also have ordered the DVD English G Lighthouse 2 (having the same kids as in 1, update soon).

I probably won't order the new DVD, but wait for a cheaper one in used condition.

I found some more earlier series with DVDs but most kids/teens are not that handsome and I don't need all DVDs, although some older DVDs are cheap, others are rare and expensive.

Most older DVDs/DVD-ROMS have few scenes and include animations or other stuff. Same for Audio CDs. Most ones are obviously speaken by grown-ups only (as the free samples suggest). I only found one (older) CD with confirmed kid voice actors.

https://schulfernsehenenglischhistory.blogspot.com/2022/05/lighthouse-access-2022.html

Update: Noah is obviously much more shown than Joe. Noah has different hair styles looking much different, I thought that they were 2 different actors. Joe has shorter hair in Access 2, also looking different (and one year older). Lily with her short hair almost looks like a boy. Also see update 2 (linked in the main post).

Plot (short): Previously called English G Lighthouse and English G Access, this is the new 2022/2023 series. Obviously they are making new movies every 10 years. Originally a school book series with several additional media (audio CD, CD-ROM, several books).

The setting is now Brighton. This time mainly 5 kids instead of 3 (Noah Williams, Alice Shaw, Zane Adebayo, Lily Hall and Sunita Chandra) but also a 2nd group of 4 (Joe, Gloria,  Daisy. and another boy. The kid on the right is a boy and called Joe. Pic from the official Making-Of clip. Probably from Lighthouse 1 (5th grade), update I now found other kids, see link below. There are also the 2 sister projects depending on the school type (Headlight and Highlight).

I now also have ordered the regular DVD of English G Lighthouse 1 as I found more scenes on Headlight, (update soon). There is also a book New Highlight, but I haven't found a DVD for that.

I think to be released in July or July 2022  2023 (Lighthouse 1, 5th grade) for the new school year (not sure about the DVD). The previous series English G Lighthouse

Also to be used supplements plays in Scene it!.

I will also post

English G Access (2014/2017) The world behind the picture (DVDs 1-10)

Episodes: ~53 minutes total ?

Update: Showing older Joe with shorter hair in Lighthouse 2 (2023). Noah is obviously more often shown and has a bit longer hair later. DVD/movie company is not Rockfinch but Grasshopper Films Ltd. (Claire Spencer) located in Brighton. Previous company and movies were set in Plymouth.
