Plot (short): I searched on an online book store and first found snap.tv (also part of Snapshot, the second 2008 DVD, post here). During research I found on scribd a bibliography of Brian Abbs and Ingrid Freebairn. I had several courses and movies from them like Postcards, The Winning Team and Two Days in Summer. But somehow missed some. Another one is Sky (also with 2 DVDs 2009, maybe even better, also coming soon)

I think the main 4-level course and books were first published in 2000. VHS obviously in 2000. DVDs in 2008. Series Longman ELT Video. There is also New Snapshot (~2003). Many books in many different editions, some have CD-ROMs.

The Video workbook as pictured has 63 pages.

Update: Issues

 

I was curious and I bought the students book 1 of Issues 1 (1976) and the teacher book (Lehrerhandreichungen) of Issues 2 (1979). As assumed, there are no movies, but at least some audio recordings (by FWU on audio reels and cassettes) which have been recorded and broadcasted on radio (Schulfunk) by Radio Bremen. These kits (Baukästen) were collections of materials to be used at schools. Some stories are based on other books and maybe some turned into movies, or could be.

There were also workbooks for students. The student's book of Issues 1 has 38 pages (A4), the teacher book 64 including 25 pages of concept info and overview and no illustrations beside these boxes. Issues 2 has 5 deeper stories. More about that in a separate post.

The contents of the workbooks (dark grey) are included in the student book as well just smaller.

The cover story in 10 short scenes is about a holiday camp in Denmark. Main character is 14 yo Caroline Redcliffe from Canterbury with at least 2 (younger ?) brothers. She met a Danish boy. Also about 14 yo Roland Schmidt from Frankfurt. Some very short plots, shop, disco etc. Few simple illustrations and multiple choice tasks.

The picture story is a comic of another boy+girl, 6 boxes.

Then there's a short story (Farewell to the Soldiers), set in 1812 about a teen romance, 4 pages, also on audio.

Finally 4 pop songs by teen Darren Burn with lyrics and simple illustrations and then vocabulary.

In total rather poor (nowadays) and just like school books.

Update: Go Ahead

 

I did some more research about Go Ahead 8 (grade 8) as the book cover has handsome teens (see main post).

As mentioned, Go Ahead 5 has the same kids as in English G Lighthouse 1 (and related series). 

I now found this clip in a book preview. But this is taken from a short film called

How Tommy Lemenchick Became a Grade 7 Legend. Full movie is 12 minutes. Probably there are just some short clips on Go Ahead 8. But still interesting. Probably some more clips. And probably same as English G Lighthouse 4. I think there are few previews of OOP versions of Go Ahead. Some earlier 90s/00s issues don't have DVDs

English G 21 What's in? What's on? What's up?

 

This is a 2 part DVD series, abbreviated as WWW, for the long running Cornelsen school book series English G21 (2010- ~2018). There were also different books for these DVDs called Unterrichtsideen zum Film mir Kopiervorlagen (handouts, script etc). For 3 different book editions (depending on German state) A, B and D,  DVD "Band 3" is for grade 7, Band 4 is for grade 8. Main author:  Barbara Derkow-Disselbeck. Movie production Tellus Vision. Luckily I found one movie (full clip/trailer) about 11 youngster from Orkney on caledonia.tv (Over the Sea to School) Band 3. Series director for that series: Les Wilson. That full series has 13 episodes.

Plot (short): This is a series of interactive PC CD-ROMs with videos from SEMERC (Special Education Micro-Electronics Resource Centre, 1982-1989) later Granada Learning and Keele University for older learners (14+) with learning difficulties/special needs (SEN). Books: Langenscheidt-Longman

The third English concept with VCR video tapes as Baukästen (tool collection kits). Completely published in 1976, first concepts published in 1973 (started in 1971 finished in 1974). Books released in 1976. Main series is called "Baukästen für den Englischunterricht".

Predecessors were Speak for Yourself and Speak Out (concepts 1972/1973). There's also a series Issues Junior I (1984, 7th Grade). 1-3

Other Baukästen are series "Scout" (9 parts ~1984) and "Getting Into Jeans" (1994 by Michael Freyer".  Very few infos especially about the latter one. Maybe most or all are just books but at least with audio tapes. Some contents can be viewed on d-nb.info Audio reels and cassettes were released by FWU, recorded and broadcasted on Radio Bremen.
