Searching for books and videos of Double Trouble (assumed to be of 1984) hard to find, as there'a movie and other series of the same title, I found episode 1 by searching for its title: Heads or Tails. The series is from 1982 as shown on the ending credits.
Very interesting. The boy looks different than on my earlier pics. Hair a bit darker.
At the end there's also the cover of the book shown (I had pics, but just in b&w).

Detailed plot: Ep 1: Penny playing drums in her room. Her brother Bob first played football in the garden then wants to watch football on TV. They throw a coin. Heads, so Football. As it's too loud for dad and the football match is bad so they watch a pop concert. They can't decide who plays the drum and who the guitar so they play "Double Trouble".
Ep 2: Penny is late at school as her brother wore her socks. Bob (and his sister) want to buy an electric guitar in a shop but it costs 100 pounds.
Ep 3: Bob helps a milkman bringing bottles to houses. An old lady (Mrs Wolf) has a barking cat which got cream from them.
Ep 4: Penny and girl Pat goes shopping for Mrs Wolf who they
met. They lost the shopping list. Penny wants Pat
staying for dinner.
Ep 5: Penny is sick and can't play the drums. Bob borrows a guitar from Peter and gives him comics.
Ep 6: Penny's dad telephoning with Aunt Kate; she needs help. Bob and Penny visit her. Aunt Kate has a guitar and wants to throw it away. She gave it to Bob. On stage they perform a song with Pat. Band is obviously called Double Trouble.
Ep 7+8 (sorry, currently no details). In Germany only 6 episodes. See episode list and update. Probably the stage scene (ep 6 or even the full episode 6 of Germany) is originally ep 8.
