Berlitz & C.Itoh (Berlitz & C. Itoh) also published "On Business Abroad" (1983/1984), "Enjoy English" 1986 (3 VHS) and "First Step Abroad". C. The Ballad of the Sad Cafe

Next to the 1991 movie starring Vanessa Redgrave (pictured as strict main character), there's also a reader in the Echo English Readers series by publisher Klett in 1981. Level d (difficult, so for grades ~11-13), text and study aids. The original novel by Carson McCullers was published in 1951. Romance set in 1930s Georgia.

95 pages edited and annotated by Tobias Hergt. Yellow cover.

I think for the echo series, there are also audio tapes (and maybe vinyl) available. Also sheets by Willi Real. In 1963 there was also a stage play.

I haven't read the book, yet.
