Tiny Books - 1978 (audio) Book series, publisher Gjellerup

This is about the 1978 Swedish book series Tiny Books by publisher Gjellerup. Books have 15 pages and are illustrated. Mainly detective stories, aimed at ~12-14 yo. The books were also published as audiobooks on cassette, ~14-18 minutes for 2 stories, combined with "og". ISBN for the print books. I found this during searching more from Dennis Gotobed. Currently, I haven't found any cover photos. Books are not tiny (22 cm, but thin). Different illustrators like Mats Andersson, Måd Olsson, etc. Some details on Worldcat. Plots (in Danish) at litteratursiden.dk

Tiny Books 1: Joan Tate: Sandy's Trumpet, 9788713023646

Tiny Books 2: Joan Tate: Dirty Dan,  9788713023660

Tiny Books 3: Joan Tate: Zena, 9788713023684

Tiny Books 4: Joan Tate: The Thinking Box, 9788713023707

Tiny Books 5: Dennis Gotobed: Who is it?,  9788713024292

Tiny Books 6: Dennis Gotobed: John Crump, private detective , 9788713024315

Tiny Books 7: Michael Knight: Mars Man One,  9788713024339

Tiny Books 8: Michael Knight: A Bob A Job, 9788713024353

There's also an earlier, unrelated Tiny Books series, probably not Swedish. Both Joan Tate and Dennis Gotobed also wrote "Minibooks", like  "New Hallo Everybody". Tate also wrote full books and translations.

Let's Learn English: Bob and Jane

This is a 2 part 1966 English course for schools (6 graders) by German publisher Crüwell with books, vinyl, audio tapes, 13 drill tapes for language labs and sheets. Sheets in 1974. The 7" record singles running at 33 rpm and have a light green cover. 2 records for each part, so 4 in total. I think some more for teachers.

Book authors are Hans Franzen, Helmut Heuer, Hilde Krüger and Clemens Radau. Illustrations (full page in color) by Ekkehard Geister. I think the plot is about adventures/everyday's situtations of Bob and Jane, probably siblings, like at a zoo.

"Let's Learn English" is a 5 part school book series. Parts 1+2 are Bob and Jane I+II, part 3 is "Welcome to London" with an additional reader "The Bridge" by Stephen Speight. Part 4 is "Welcome to Britain - Welcome to America" with readers The Bridge + The Matchbox. Part 5 is "Advanced Course" with readers The Bridge, The Matchbox and "You" also co-authored by Speight.

I found some samples of the books, but haven't heard the audios. So not sure if spoken by grown-ups or kids.

Update: Book: Stephen Speight: The Gang (exclusive)

I have finished reading the booklet and completed the post.

Funny book, easy to read.  But the story is very short (also compared to other, later readers), the plot is rather weak and I don't like the (simple 70s) illustrations. I think it was later aimed at 5th graders (could be a mistake), so the vocabulary (mainly coming from the related school books) is very limited.

Book: Stephen Speight: The Gang (exclusive)

Another reader, this time an early one (1974) from Stephen Speight, MA (Oxon).
42 pages incl. 3 pages vocabulary, 4 pages reading comprehension/test, 22 chapters. Illustrations by Ronald Knierum, advisor Clemens Radau. Grades 6-7.
I previously haven't found any details, no TOC and no cover image. I feared that the gang might be grown-ups or older teens.

The gang is Fatty (Edward), Big Chief, girl Doll and Littl'un (with squeaky voice) from left. The plot is about a gang of little kids in need of money for a holiday trip, but had bad luck with their jobs. After hard work, they finally got money with the 4th plan, making a fair. But it's still not enough.

Similar/related books (blue green cover) The Bridge, The Pier, The Matchbox.

1. Meet the Gang (5 lines).
2. The great plan - They decided to get jobs for holiday
3. The list - 6 ideas of jobs, incl. a sponsored walk
4. How many sponsors? - All have few sponsors. Littl'un has 325 (kids of school)
5. The walk - hard work, feet hurt
6. How much money? - counting money
7. The next plan - everyone got a job, income is shown on a paper thermometer
8. Big Chief's job - he made a bird-table but ruined plants (so no money)
9. Fatty's job - he repaired a door bell, but ruined a table with a leaking battery
10. Doll's job - babysitting, but broke a vase
11. Littl'un's job - The only one earned money, 1 pound for cleaning a cowshed. But his mom accidentally burnt the money.
12. The third plan - They sang Christmas songs in October at doors but people don't like it
13. Carol singing -  Same in December and they made money but a policeman took it
14. The fourth plan - They plan a fair with baking cakes, selling toys and a Robin Hood game
15. All the fun of the fair - On Easter holidays the fair starts (brief chapter)
16. At the Robin Hood stall - Shooting with arrows at bottles. A man hit several bottles with one arrow, so Big Chief moved the bottles apart.
17. At the cake stall - guessing the weight of a cake
18. At the toy stall - Fatty couldn't sell toys first
19. At the second-hand stall - Littl'un had more luck selling antiques
20. Who wins the cake? - Mr. Jamieson won the cake but nobody knows him (it was Littl'un). All visitors left, as there wasn't a tea stall. Doll's mom brought tea.
21. Rich at last? - Counting the money
22. See Britain by bus - At the travel agency (pic below) they want to book a holiday. They had 16 pounds. Only one member could travel to Spain for a week with that. As they worked hard they all want at least 2 weeks. So they decide to all make a bus tour to London.

The Ballad of the Sad Cafe

Next to the 1991 movie starring Vanessa Redgrave (pictured as strict main character), there's also a reader in the Echo English Readers series by publisher Klett in 1981. Level d (difficult, so for grades ~11-13), text and study aids. The original novel by Carson McCullers was published in 1951. Romance set in 1930s Georgia.

95 pages edited and annotated by Tobias Hergt. Yellow cover.

I think for the echo series, there are also audio tapes (and maybe vinyl) available. Also sheets by Willi Real. In 1963 there was also a stage play.

I haven't read the book, yet.

Book: Stephen Speight: Tramp

Another reader by Stephen Speight ("Moving to Marlborough"). I don't own it and I haven't found any pics online for many ...
