Book: Stephen Speight: The Gang (exclusive)

Another reader, this time an early one (1974) from Stephen Speight, MA (Oxon).
42 pages incl. 3 pages vocabulary, 4 pages reading comprehension/test, 22 chapters. Illustrations by Ronald Knierum, advisor Clemens Radau. Grades 6-7.
I previously haven't found any details, no TOC and no cover image. I feared that the gang might be grown-ups or older teens.

The gang is Fatty (Edward), Big Chief, girl Doll and Littl'un (with squeaky voice) from left. The plot is about a gang of little kids in need of money for a holiday trip, but had bad luck with their jobs. After hard work, they finally got money with the 4th plan, making a fair. But it's still not enough.
