Update: Project

This is from Project (Forth Edition, I think from 2013) from Oxford University Press. I already had this under Project Video (1989, VHS). I hadn't found good screenshots then. Probably these are new clips. DVD video available (might be DVD ROM).

Pic 1 from part 4 Dylan's Plan (Drama) Level 3 unit 4. Pic 2 from Level 1 unit 4 part 2 Your favourite sport (Interview). In total 5 levels. I haven't checked them all. I only found clips of levels 1-3 on YouTube 17/17/25 clips. ~1-5 minutes each.

There are also animations and grown-ups and many (teen) girls shown. Materials still from Tom Hutchinson. Also available as Czech and Serbian editions, maybe more.

There's also "Project Explore" from Oxford University, maybe not related.

Making Friends

Year published/aired: 2013 ?

Year produced/filmed:

# of episodes: ?

Grade: 6e (A1-A2)

Genres: basics, grammar

Sub-subject: culture

Broadcaster: -

Production company:

Producer:

Story: Jean-Louis Habert, others

Editor:

Director:

Media: DVD

Media distribution: Belin Education

Additional media: books, audio CDs

Working material:

Material publisher:

Novel available:

Other literature:

Plot (short): Another French course by Editions Belin. I think for 6th grade only. The video DVD should be included in the "manual" (probably manuel d'eleves avec CD, the student's book) and there's a pack of 3 Audio CDs (89 audio tracks) depicting screenshots but probably not containing videos.

Story filmed in the UK. Main characters obviously the boy (Jack 13 yo from Scotland ?) and a girl (Emily 10 yo from England). The cute blue little alien robot is called Zero (age 125 from planet YZ932) . The vision turns blueish when watched by Zero. I found a 9 minutes official clip on YouTube called Making Friends 6e - Présentation de la méthode. Also showing some others in a class at school.

At least 5 units. Unknown amount of videos. I only found very few book samples.

Episodes: ~4 minutes each clip

Issues 2

Contrary to the tool collections of Issues 1, I just have the red teacher's book (cover is text only) which is about all the 5 separate student's books. 1979, grade 9. Very long intro (concept info and overview), Also see Issues 1. The audio recordings were not just broadcasted by Radio Bremen but also recorded by them (and released by FWU). Plots:

-Booze (teen and adult alcoholism, incl 4 cases, 4 interviews (1 doctor) and 1 bio, survey, newspaper report)
-The Camberwell Case (crime at drug store, picture story, reports, questionings, prejudice, map, role play)
-Holiday Industry (holiday planning for England, radio interviews, ads, sales dialogues, maps, surveys) Blackpool and 3 Scottish Ski places incl. Granton-on-Spey
-Horror (noises ?, pics, newspaper, Vampire comic, Vampire info, short story MR James: The Ash Tree, Nightmares, write a play)
-Visions of Freedom (historical US slavery) dialogues, literature, Uncle Tom's Cabin, Adam Starr's Journal, song Go Down Moses, Nat's sermon (Nat Turner), photos.

No illustrations in the teacher's book, just many boxes like in Issues I. Instructions are a mix of German and English texts. Much more advanced like Issues 1 (grade 8).

Update: Issues

I was curious and I bought the students book 1 of Issues 1 (1976) and the teacher book (Lehrerhandreichungen) of Issues 2 (1979). As assumed, there are no movies, but at least some audio recordings (by FWU on audio reels and cassettes) which have been recorded and broadcasted on radio (Schulfunk) by Radio Bremen. These kits (Baukästen) were collections of materials to be used at schools. Some stories are based on other books and maybe some turned into movies, or could be.

There were also workbooks for students. The student's book of Issues 1 has 38 pages (A4), the teacher book 64 including 25 pages of concept info and overview and no illustrations beside these boxes. Issues 2 has 5 deeper stories. More about that in a separate post.

The contents of the workbooks (dark grey) are included in the student book as well just smaller.

The cover story in 10 short scenes is about a holiday camp in Denmark. Main character is 14 yo Caroline Redcliffe from Canterbury with at least 2 (younger ?) brothers. She met a Danish boy. Also about 14 yo Roland Schmidt from Frankfurt. Some very short plots, shop, disco etc. Few simple illustrations and multiple choice tasks.

The picture story is a comic of another boy+girl, 6 boxes.

Then there's a short story (Farewell to the Soldiers), set in 1812 about a teen romance, 4 pages, also on audio.

Finally 4 pop songs by teen Darren Burn with lyrics and simple illustrations and then vocabulary.

In total rather poor (nowadays) and just like school books.
