Sky (Kirsty's Secret)

As announced the other 2004 or 2005 Video from Pearson/Longman's series Sky, authors Brian Abbs and Ingrid Freebairn. The previous pic 2 of DVD Life in Britain (taken from a Sky CD-ROM/Multi ROM was in fact from Kirsty's Secret.

I found the full clip (26 minutes) on YouTube "Kirsty's Secret 2004". Also cycling scenes. Released also on 2 VHS 2005 PAL and NTSC and DVD I think in 2008 (or 2009).

Surprisingly, there is even en entry on IMDb.

I found several "new" courses, coming soon.

4 instead of 8 chapters

Episodes

1. Who's in the woods?

2. The strange video

3. The visit to school

4. The big secret

Plot (short): After finding Snapshot, I found also this similar course (same authors) but for a younger audience. There are 2 DVD, the other is Kirsty's Secret (2005, coming soon). VHS released 2005, DVD 2009. 4-level course.

I think the books first released in 2005 as well. There's also New Sky (2009). At least the New Sky has a "live book" (digi libro). with a CD, probably a CD-ROM. The courses have CD-ROMs (Multi ROM) and 3 audio CDs (Class CD, maybe MP3). The CD-ROM (Sky) is on archive.org and has MP3 and 8 very short flv movies (~15-30 seconds each, pic 1+3, maybe not from the DVD Life in Britain). I haven't watched the DVD yet.

Also used at least in Italy. In Poland as Sky High.

Pic 2 below is in fact from Kirsty's Secret

Episodes: 30 minutes total

1. Family and friends (3'30) 5 scenes

2. The English language

3. Houses (7 scenes)

4. Animals

Plot (short): I searched on an online book store and first found snap.tv (also part of Snapshot, the second 2008 DVD, post coming soon). During research I found on scribd a bibliography of Brian Abbs and Ingrid Freebairn. I had several courses and movies from them like Postcards, The Winning Team and Two Days in Summer. But somehow missed some. Another one is Sky (also with 2 DVDs 2009, maybe even better, also coming soon)

I think the main 4-level course and books were first published in 2000. VHS obviously in 2000. DVDs in 2008. Series Longman ELT Video. There is also New Snapshot (~2003). Many books in many different editions, some have CD-ROMs.

The Video workbook as pictured has 63 pages.

Episodes: 69 minutes (total, 2 VHS 39+30 minutes)

The Challenge - a drama; Real lives - four documentaries. The PAL DVD is maybe a DVD-ROM. The challenge written by Margaret Simpson. Written by Ken Singleton. Another credit Sara Galvin. I haven't found pics or clips or detailed info about the vids. Most info from worldcat.
